Inside Higher ED published an interesting article September 10th, 2017 that discussed the costs associated with developing and teaching a flipped class.  The article raises a number of questions.  The comments provide some interesting answers.  One comment notes that the startup cost for these courses is a consideration, but once they are setup, flipped courses are no different from standard courses in terms of the cost of teaching them.
